🌱 An Update:
In November 2020, I became vegan and it changed my relationship with food completely. Living in the Bay Area, and being a foodie, the vegan food scene has been a little dissapointing (although I am grateful for all the vegan options that are out there!) so I actually prefer cooking my own food even more now. Not only am I enjoying it more but I’m experimenting with new foods, vegetables and ingredients that I’ve never tried or cared for before. Currently, my most favorite creation is the best vegan ramen you will ever taste in your entire life (see the first picture below) and I’m not exaggerating because it took me many iterations to get to this point 🥲 For context, I grew up eating meat, dairy, and had no restrictions with food whatsoever so while I miss the taste, now I just mimic those “meat” flavors into a plant-based dish and if you know me, you know I’m all about flavors, flavors and more flavors. In a funny way, something I learned in design ended up being true for me in (vegan) cooking which was - constraints don’t hinder your creativity, if anything, it inspires it!.🌱
